This mini “How To” started when I asked a well known support community of how to get the most sales, using Ebay. They stated that a very good idea, is to create a custom Ebay Template.
We are developers here so this had a snazzy ring to it but, we needed to find out what Ebay’sPlatform specifications were.
I’ve asked a known developer community and then asked a paid support ticket community in this field.Both gave no response to my inquiry of guidelines to follow, when creating an Ebay Auction Template. Searching Google for other resources lead us to realize that Ebay uses HTML but, still no actual rules to follow.
No choice was left but to try to create one ourselves, without knowledge of rules or API’s!
Here is our “How To – Create a Custom Ebay Auction Template”:

Outside of Ebay:
Step 1: Create a layout/template in Photoshop
Step 2: Saved this as a “PSD”.
Step 2: Import the PSD from Photoshop into Fireworks
Step 3: Slice the layout
Step 4: Exported layout to HTML (making sure to put images in a separate folder)
Step 5: Opened HTML layout in Dreamweaver
Step 6: Edited layout properties, page properties and image “Alt Tags”.
Step 7: Removed editable areas and filled them with a matching background color
Step 8: Uploaded template (HTML + Images) (Entire Folder)
On Ebay:
Step 1: Sign into your Ebay Account
Step 2: Select the “Sell” tab in your account manager
Step 3: Select “Start Selling”
Step 4: choose to “Sell with a Template”
Step 5: Select Category of your choice
Step 6: Scroll down to “Describe the item you’re selling”
Step 7: Select the “HTML” tab
Step 8: Paste in the code from your previously created HTML
Step 9: For all images linked in the HTML that you have pasted,
modify the directories of these to reflect my example below:

::: Place your full URL because Ebay does not host the images on their site. :::
Step 10: Select “Save as draft”
Step 11: You can now chose your other seller options but from now on, you will have the modified Template in your “Sell with a template” drop down box, upon choosing new item to sell!

We are starting back to blogging as a company and what better subject to kick it off, than the newest OS from Microsoft AKA “Windows codename 7″. Good Points: The new UI, the higher performance with less bloat and the integration of very neat features, not seen by other OS’s, makes this release an absolute Winner; over Vista!
We are not the largest enthusiast of the Windows Vista Operating system although we do provide full professional support to all clients, using this OS. On the other hand, we like to be objective with technologies and would not cast stones to innovation. Our personal flavor however, leaves us stuck on Linux Distributions (CentOS / Unbuntu) and WIndows XP Professional SP3. We have been with these Operating Systems for the longest time, until now!
